CDC Injury Center
Public health information must be understandable, useful, and easy to find across different devices. CDC’s Injury Center needed a digital-first approach to communicating complex and sensitive topics, including overdose prevention, adverse childhood experiences, and injury prevention.
Strategy
The broader engagement combined a digital-first communications strategy with content development, design, and usability testing. We considered the questions people brought to a page, the information they needed first, and how that experience changed on mobile. Infographics provided another way to explain data and prevention topics without relying on long-form text alone. Working within CDC’s brand and content requirements, we connected page hierarchy, responsive design, and visual storytelling. The body of work included transportation-related content, budget information, prevention-topic pages, and infographics. Each format needed to make complex information easier to scan and use.
